During World War II, issues of Street & Smith’s Detective Story Magazine were distributed to American forces with “Overseas Edition for Armed Services” printed on the cover. They were not allowed to include the advertisements from the US editions, so the opening 3 pages were typically replaced with an additional article, and sometimes an additional puzzle was added. |
