Began as a mainly reprint publication, but soon featured new fiction by Canadian writers (e.g. Robert W. Service's "The Trail of '98" was serialized, 1911); authors included Gilbert Parker, Arthur Stringer, Alan Sullivan, Stephen Leacock, Thomas Head Raddall; it also became an important market for American fiction writers in the 1930s, 1940s and the early 1950s: US authors included Talbot Mundy, Stephen Vincent Benet, Ray Bradbury. By the late 1950s fiction was becoming rarer and the last fiction was published in 1960 or thereabouts. Issues & Index Sources
