Volume 3 contains two works by Jean-Paul Friedrich Richter, Army-Chaplain Schmelze’s Journey to Flætz and Life of Quintus Fixlein. Volume 4 contains Goethe’s novel Wilhelm Meister’s Travels. All volumes contain erudite critical studies of the authors by Carlyle and his translations are exemplary. |
