The Star

The Star had a long tradition of publishing short stories and serials, with many well-known authors contributing their work to the paper down the years. Famous writers whose stories appeared in The Star include Mary Elizabeth Braddon, Arthur Conan Doyle, Israel Zangwill, Emile Zola, Walter de la Mare, Katharine Tynan, Ursula Bloom and Richmal Crompton. Fiction featured prominently in The Star for much of its lifespan.
