Film Fun

Country: US
Total Issues: 315+326=641

The magazine actually started in 1887 as Judge's Serials and Judge's Library reprinting material from the humor magazine Judge. It then ran for three years as The Magazine of Fun before changing to Film Fun which, for a period in the early years was subtitled "and The Magazine of Fun, Judge's Library and Sis Hopkin's Own Book combined".

It was under this latter title that the magazine became famous, particularly for the Enoch Bolles covers. The magazine guidelines said that it "used collegiate jokes, quips, epigrams up to 300 words; humorous verse" but, according to Peter Haining, it also included "short stories in which fun-loving, invariably naive girls from all over the U.S. almost fell into the clutches of the film world's worst lechers".

There was at least one Film Fun Annual in 1941/42.
