The Marvel

Country: UK
Total Issues: 3+224+306+952=1485

Ran early stories of Sexton Blake and Nelson Lee but was best known in its day for the adventures of three adventurers Jack, Sam and Pete by S. Clarke Hook.

The issues are not dated themselves and are usually dated for the Saturday following the Wednesday when they appeared; this convention is followed below.

Note that the magazine was renamed The Marvel Library somewhere in the early 1900s but no details of this have yet been located. Note also that some of the (Christmas) issues of The Halfpenny Marvel were "double issues" priced at 1d and hence were actually called The Marvel.

Incorporates: Nugget Library from 12-Mar-1921; Boys' Herald from 1-Apr-1922; (Sports Stories from 15-Oct-1921 (?))
