The Argosy [1865]

Total Issues: 431+9=440

Intended as a serious monthly magazine "of tales, travels, essays and poems" like The Cornhill, but its early serialization of the sensation novel "Griffith Gaunt" by Charles Reade (about bigamy) made it a racier magazine than planned. Under Mrs Wood it continued this trend. It published her "Johnny Ludlow" stories.

Had supplement called the "Summer Number" from 1884 to 1892, which ceased to be a separate publication in 1893, and became the June number of The Argosy.
