Title changed from Australian Monthly Magazine. Some interesting content including Clarkes Cannabis Indica, which is a gothic story he wrote during a controlled experiment (i.e. a doctor was on hand to monitor things) with hashish; it was reprinted in his short stories as A Haschish Trance. Clarke died aged 35 leaving his wife to bring up 7 kids...but he did write His Natural Life, an Australian classic. Editor Marcus Clarke (1867-69), J.J. Shillinglaw (1869-70). |
