"A magazine about Conan the Cimmerian and his Hyborian Age" --Gordon, June 13, 2002
During the three decades between 1936 and 1966, one group kept the fires burning. The Hyborian League was a small but faithful group of Howard admirers. They published a small circulation magazine called Amra (Conan’s name amongst the Corsairs, meaning “Lion”). George R. Heap started and published Amra until 1959, when George Scithers took over until its final issues in 1985. Scithers (along with Darrell Schweitzer) revived Weird Tales in 1986. --G. W. Thomas in "A Brief History of Sword & Sorcery" E-Genre Weekly. --Gordon, June 13, 2002
