This auction has 8 fascinating issues of Air Wonder Storiespublished by Gernsback Publications. It is a larger (11 3/4" x 8 1/2") better quality pulp magazine with beautiful covers by Paul, lots of air/space stories, nice illustrations and ads. All issues are complete and in relatively good condition as they have been stored for years in plastic sleeves. Individual flaws will be menioned with the issues.
October 1929 (Vol. 1 #4) featured Ed. Earl Repp, Harl Vincent, and Henrik Dahl Juve. The front cover has two areas of fold marks (not that noticeable) along the upper right third of the front page. November 1929 (Vol. 1 #5) featured Repp, E. Hamilton, and Jack Williamson. The back cover has a 2" tear but is complete. December 1929 (Vol. 1 #6) featured Repp, Newton, and Hamilton. January 1930 (Vol. 1 #7) featured Repp, Johnson, and George Allan England. The lower left hand corner of the front cover is missing 1/2 " of the corner and the back cover has tiny areas (about 1/4") missing sections. February 1930 (Vol. 1 #8) featured England, Key, and Juve. The back cover has tiny sections of the upper edge missing/frayed from the left corner. March 1930 (Vol. 1 #9) featured Chappelow, Hamilton, and England. The front cover has a 1/2" x 3/4" of the lower left corner missing, some small sections (about 1/4") missing along the lower edge, and a few areas of tear along the right edge and one tiny tear on the top edge. April 1930 (Vol. 1 # 10) featured McKay, England, Morrow. The front cover has a series of small missing sections usually 1/4" deep along the bottom left and right corners as well as the right and top edges of the page. May 1930 (Vol. 1 # 11) featured Repp, Stone, and Kateley. There is just a small tear along the right edge of the front cover on the edge closest to the date.
Each issue is complete with firm spines. The spine wear is usually along the top and bottom edges and should be evident from that picture. These 8 issues are very collectible and in remarkable condition for their age. A real find!
