Born in Philadelphia, PA, on December 5, 1880. In 1906, he joined the Philadelphia Inquirer, eventually rising to head of the Inquirer’s New York Bureau. In 1937, he assumed the position of assistant exchange editor for the Herald-Tribune, a position he held the rest of his life. He died in French Hospital, Manhattan, NY on August 30, 1953.
