Sources and Acknowledgments:
In the process of compiling this bibliography, as well as referring to my own collection of literature, a number of online sources were consulted, not the least of which were The Internet Speculative Fiction Database and Philip Stephensen-Payne's Galactic Central website, the latter a home to the Fictionmags Index and the various Locus Press indexes.

Further Reading:
For those wishing to learn more about the author's life and literary career I can greatly recommend Magazines I Remember: Some Pulps, Their Editors, and What it Was Like to Write for Them, a memoir by Cave published by Tattered Pages Press in 1994 which contains, among other things, transcripts of correspondence between himself and fellow writer Carl Jacobi. Other excellent reference works are Pulp Man's Odyssey: The Hugh B. Cave Story, a biography of the author written by Audrey Parente that was published by Starmont House in 1988 and Cave of a Thousand Tales: The Life and Times of Pulp Author Hugh B. Cave, another biography of Cave that was written by Milt Thomas and published by Arkham House in 2004. In addition, on June 29, 2004, "My Friend Hugh", a warm tribute to the author written by Stephen Jones, was posted on the Locus Magazine website and is available to read online here.

Addenda:
Notwithstanding several notable exceptions, I have, for the most part, not included here in this bibliography the various ebook publications (particularly chapbooks), digital audio books, and facsimile reprint editions of pulp magazines in which Cave's work has been reissued.
Also not included in this bibliography are the numerous articles, reviews, forewords, introductions and letters the author contributed to various books and periodicals, as well as essays and biographical pieces written about Hugh B. Cave. Information on where these appeared can be found at the The Internet Speculative Fiction Database and the Galactic Central website.
Moreover, it is worth acknowledging here that Cave's writings have been reprinted extensively in foreign language editions. Listing these publications is beyond the scope of this webpage. However, information on books and magazines wherein the author's work has appeared in translation can be found at the aforementioned websites.
It is worth noting here that the Novels section of this webpage only lists those that were published as standalone works of fiction in book form. In that sense, the list is incomplete, as the author wrote numerous stories of novel length that were printed solely in periodicals, with a few that went on to be reprinted in anthologies. Many may be classed as novellas or short novels, but full-length or not, to keep things simple I have elected to include these exclusively in the Short Fiction section.
Although it is possible that Hugh B. Cave had other examples of his poetry printed in different publications, the only one I have been able to identify, so far, is "Afraid", a poem that appeared in the May 3, 1930 issue of All-Story Combined with Munsey magazine.
